Christie Potts was born and raised in Washington, NC. She graduated from Washington High School and earned an Associate Degree from Beaufort County Community College. She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Batchelor of Science in Business Administration.

In 2018, Christie joined Beaufort County Schools with 20 years of business experience and an ounce of consideration to become a certified teacher. She was hired for the position of ISS Coordinator and later decided to utilize her business experience, which led her to the positions of Bookkeeper, Budget Specialist and Chief Finance Officer.

Christie and her husband, Charles, have two children, Morgan and Latham.
