I was born and raised in Indiana. I have been married to my wonderful wife Denise for 24 years. I am a father to three beautiful daughters, two who still live in Indiana. I am a grandfather to my three grandsons. Before I became a teacher, I worked in the restaurant business for 21 years. In 2008, my wife accepted a position at East Carolina University in the Occupational Therapy Department. After the move, I decided to go to college to become a teacher. I started my educational journey at Pitt Community College and had a great experience there. After PCC, I attended ECU to get a degree in Middle Grades Education. My favorite sports teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indiana Hoosiers Basketball, Notre Dame Football, ECU Football, and Carolina Hurricanes Hockey. When I am not at school I love spending time with my family and friends enjoying all that Eastern North Carolina has to offer. I can often be seen enjoying the day riding my motorcycle, visiting the beaches, or traveling the waterways on our boat. In my free time I enjoy history, either visiting or learning about historical places in North Carolina. My favorite movie is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
